AUTOMAX CARS
1. RENTAL PERIOD
The minimum rental duration is 1 day. To extend the reservation, the renter must contact Automax to renew the contract and be informed of the additional fees that will be charged. If the vehicle is returned after the agreed time, there will be additional charges.
2. AGE REQUIREMENTS
Renters must be at least 19 years old and have the Young Driver Surcharge (YDS) to rent vehicles in Categories A and B.
The minimum age to rent vehicles in all other categories is 23 years.
Drivers under 23 years old are subject to a daily surcharge of €10.
No restrictions or surcharges apply to drivers aged 23 to 75.
The maximum rental age is 78 years, with a daily surcharge of €10.
2A. YOUNG DRIVER (YDS) RESTRICTIONS
Car Categories: The only car categories available for rental by this specific age group are A, B.
Additional Fee: €10 per day.
Deposit: The amount of the excess will be held as a deposit, which will be refunded upon the return of the vehicle if there is no damage to the car.
Insurances: This specific age group cannot choose the Super or Full insurance.It can choose only CDW.
3. DRIVER’S LICENSE & IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
All drivers must present a valid driving license, along with an official ID or passport. Non-EU citizens or those with licenses not in Latin characters must provide an International Driving Permit in addition to their national license. A minimum of one year of valid driving experience is required.
4.PERMITTED KILOMETERS
Unlimited mileage applies to rentals within Corfu Island.
5.PAYMENT METHODS
For all categories, the renter must present a valid credit/debit card (Mastercard, Visa, PAYPAL) or cash to cover the amounts related to the guarantee and rental costs (for non-prepaid bookings).
6. DEPOSIT
No deposit is required for bookings.
If selecting Super or Full Insurance, no credit card or deposit is required.
CDW selection requires a credit card or a deposit.
7. TAXES
Our rates are final and include all the applicable taxes.
8.TRAFFIC OR OTHER MUNICIPAL FINES
Any fines and administrative penalties incurred as a result of the driver’s negligence are totally borne by the renter. In addition to fines, the customer must pay a non-refundable cost of 100€ + VAT in the event of license plates loss or removal.
9.THIRD PARTY INSURANCE
All authorized drivers are covered by third-party liability insurance.
9A. DAMAGES THAT ARE NOT COVERED BY ANY INSURANCE PACKAGE
-Any damages caused by negligence or driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-Damages to the car’s lower body – wheels – wheel covers.
-Damages to the top and the car’s windows.
-Damages caused by off-road driving, driving near rivers or areas with water, or driving with bad weather.
-Damages caused intentionally or recklessly by the renter to the clutch or the engine.
-Any damages to the car’s interior.
-Transporting more passengers than the number of licensed number.
-Damages caused by an unregistered driver with a license (possession) of less than one year.
-Personal item theft.
9B. EXTRA CHARGES THAT ARE NOT COVERED BY ANY INSURANCE PACKAGE
-A service charge will apply in the event of assistance, in the event of a breakdown, which is the responsibility of the renters.
-A charge will apply for using the wrong fuel.
-It is the responsibility of each renter to cover the costs of any violation of traffic laws.
-A charge will apply if the GPS is lost or damaged.
-A car towing fee will apply when your vehicle requires extrication from mud, sand or water.
-A charge will apply if the keys are stolen, lost or damaged.
10. COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included in the rental price, to third parties, with a certain excess amount depending on the type of the car. To view specific details please check our Insurance page.The amount varies based on the driver’s age and the Vehicle Group, serving as a pre-authorization to cover the excess and any potential damage. Alternatively, there is an option to provide a cash deposit at the office. In the event that the renter returns the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, the blocked amount will be promptly refunded.
By selecting our Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW), there is no requirement for a deposit, and a credit card is not necessary. This option provides added convenience and peace of mind during your rental period.
We do not have any responsibility for any delays in the cancellation of preauthorizations , please contact your bank as they hold responsibility.
Drivers must return the vehicle in the same condition that they received it.
11. SUPER COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (SCDW)
The Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) offers the customer the opportunity to reduce the excess amount for which they are responsible and reduces the excess/deductible amount for damages covered by the insurance. To view specific details please check our Insurance page.This coverage extends to both Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Third-Party (TP) insurance and is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.It’s important to note that damages not covered by the specified insurance packages, as detailed in the Rental Agreement and terms and conditions, remain excluded.
ATTENTION IN EACH CASE OF DAMAGE THE RENTER MUST INFORM AUTOMAX CAR RENTAL IMMEDIATELY.
IN THE CASE OF NOT NOTIFYING THE OFFICE, THE DAMAGE THAT HAS BEEN DONE WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED.
12. FULL DAMAGE WAIVER (FDW)
Introducing “FULL Insurance“: The ultimate Full Coverage that completely eliminates the excess fee for our valued customers. Recognized as the premier all-inclusive cover in the market.
The FULL Insurance takes the self-risk/deductible amount for any damage covered by our insurance policies down to zero. Please be aware that damages not encompassed by the specified insurance packages, as outlined in the Rental Agreement and terms and conditions, remain excluded.
This offering ensures that our renters can enjoy a carefree experience with Automax. For a comprehensive breakdown of coverage, kindly refer to our Insurance page.
With FULL Insurance, there’s no need to pay any deposit or concern yourself with any excess. It’s the worry-free choice for an enhanced rental experience.
13.FORM PICK-UP CAR
The pick-up of the car is accompanied by the pick-up car form.
14. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
Child and Booster seats can be purchased from our website or at the rental desk.
15. BIOLOGICAL CLEANING
Vehicles returned with a stained interior that is not cleaned with a normal/common wash, customers will be charged 60€ plus VAT for the biological cleaning of the car.
16. RESTRICTIONS
Smoking is not allowed in the car cabin.
Driving while wearing a wet swimsuit is not allowed.
17. LUGGAGE POLICY
Renters are responsible for ensuring their luggage fits within the vehicle’s designated storage capacity.
18. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
Free vehicle delivery and collection within Corfu International Airport, city center, and port from 08:00 to 21:00.
Deliveries/collections between 21:01 and 23:59 incur a €40 charge.
Deliveries/collections between 00:01 and 07:59 incur a €50 charge.
Other locations are subject to additional charges.
19. FUEL POLICY
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up. A refueling service charge of €20 plus fuel costs applies if the fuel level is lower. No refunds are given for excess fuel.
20. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
Free of charge and available 24/7. It is recommended to contact the company directly in the event of required roadside assistance. If the driver drives the vehicle off the official road network and the vehicle is immobilized, the driver will be charged the cost of towing the vehicle from roadside assistance.
21. VEHICLE REPLACEMENT
The driver should contact AutoMax by phone for assistance. If the vehicle has been towed by roadside assistance due to an accident, following violations of traffic laws by the driver, the driver is obliged to cover the costs of repatriating the car to the company’s headquarters from the point where it was immobilized.
22. CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled rental incur no fee.
Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a fee equal to the initial booking deposit.
23. FERRY TRANSPORTATION
Before picking up the car, the renters must provide written authorization. The price is 75€ including VAT + 0,3€ per Km. Without the company’s written authorization, the vehicle is not insured for any damage or loss while on board.
24. CROSS BORDER RENTALS AND TERRITORIAL RESTRICTIONS
!! Cross Border Rentals are not allowed !! !!
In case of offense against Cross Border and Territorial Restrictions, all protections lose their validity.
25. CAR CATEGORIES AVAILABILITY
The company reserves the right to provide an alternative vehicle of equal or higher class based on availability.

27. JURISDICTION
In case of difference between the contract parties of this agreement then Corfu Courts have full jurisdiction.
By completing the booking and payment process and collecting the car rental keys, you agree to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
Automax reserves the right to update these terms without prior notice.

RESTRICTIONS
Automax has the right to cancel the rental if ascertains that the renter is not capable to drive the rental vehicle for any reason.
RENTER OBLIGATIONS
Renter must lock the vehicle whenever it is left unattended.
The renter must have the rental agreement and his driving license with him while driving the vehicle.
In case of a flat tire the renter must notify us as soon as possible and avoid moving the bike in order to fix the tire. In case the renter keeps riding with a flat tire they are responsible to pay the amount required for the flat tires and any damage caused.
The renter agrees that the company is not responsible for any incidental or consequential damage suffered by the renter or third parties during the lease, and no claim may be brought against it for higher causes.

In case of offense against Cross Border and Territorial Restrictions, all protections lose their validity. The scooters are allowed to be driven only in Corfu.
SCOOTER CATEGORIES AVAILABILITY
The company reserves the right, depending on availability, to provide a different type of scooter from the one originally booked with a corresponding, or higher class.
