AUTOMAX CARS
1. RENTAL PERIOD
The minimum rental duration is one (1) day. To extend the rental period, the renter must contact Automax prior to the agreed return time in order to renew the contract and be informed of any additional charges. Late returns without prior authorization may result in additional rental charges.
2. AGE REQUIREMENTS
● Renters must be at least 19 years old to rent vehicles in Categories A and B, subject to the Young Driver Surcharge (YDS).
● The minimum age requirement for all other vehicle categories is 23 years old.
● Drivers under 23 years old are subject to a daily surcharge of €10.
● No restrictions or surcharges apply to drivers between 23 and 75 years old.
● The maximum rental age is 78 years old, subject to a daily surcharge of €10.
2A. YOUNG DRIVER (YDS) RESTRICTIONS
Only vehicle Categories A and B are available for renters under the Young Driver category.
Additional Fee: €10 per day.
Deposit: The excess amount will be held as a security deposit.
Insurance Restrictions: Young Drivers may only select CDW insurance coverage. SCDW and FULL Insurance are not available.
3. DRIVER’S LICENSE & IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
All drivers must present:
● A valid driving license.
● A valid passport or official ID card.
Non-EU licenses or licenses not written in Latin characters must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit (IDP).
All drivers must hold their license for a minimum of one (1) year prior to the rental date.
4. VEHICLE CONDITION & RENTER RESPONSIBILITY
The renter acknowledges that the vehicle has been delivered in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition and agrees to return it in the same condition, excluding normal wear and tear.
The renter remains fully responsible for the vehicle from the moment of delivery until the vehicle is returned, inspected, and accepted by Automax staff.
Any damages, theft, loss, fines, or charges occurring during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter.
5. PERMITTED KILOMETERS
Unlimited mileage applies only within Corfu Island.
6. PAYMENT METHODS
Accepted payment methods:
● Visa
● Mastercard
● Cash (where applicable)
American Express is not accepted.
For non-prepaid reservations, the renter must provide sufficient payment coverage for rental charges and guarantee obligations.
7. DEPOSIT POLICY
● No deposit is required when FULL Insurance is selected.
● CDW and SCDW insurance selections require a valid credit card and security deposit.
● FDW/FULL Insurance requires a valid credit card for contract finalization.
● The credit/debit card must belong to the main or additional authorized driver.
The excess/security amount may be pre-authorized and blocked for up to 30 business days depending on the customer’s bank.
Automax bears no responsibility for delays in releasing pre-authorized amounts.
If a debit card is used, the release period may be significantly longer and is determined solely by the issuing bank.
8. TAXES
All rental rates include VAT and all applicable local taxes.
9. TRAFFIC FINES & ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTIES
The renter is fully responsible for:
● Traffic violations
● Parking fines
● Toll charges
● Administrative penalties
● Violations of Greek traffic law
In the event of loss, theft, or removal of license plates, a non-refundable administrative fee of €100 + VAT will apply in addition to any governmental charges.
10. THIRD PARTY LIABILITY INSURANCE
All authorized drivers are covered by Third Party Liability Insurance according to Greek law.
11. DAMAGES NOT COVERED BY ANY INSURANCE PACKAGE
Insurance does NOT cover:
● Damages caused by negligence or reckless driving.
● Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or prohibited substances.
● Damages to wheels, tires, wheel covers, underbody, roof, windows, mirrors, clutch, or engine caused by misuse.
● Interior damages, burns, stains, odors, or smoking-related damages.
● Damages caused by off-road driving, driving on beaches, flooded roads, dirt roads unsuitable for circulation, or areas exposed to seawater.
● Damages caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
● Damages caused by unauthorized or uninsured drivers.
● Damages caused while transporting more passengers than legally permitted.
● Theft or loss of personal belongings.
● Damages occurring after failure to notify Automax immediately following an incident.
12. EXTRA CHARGES NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE
The renter may be charged additionally for:
● Wrong fuel usage.
● Lost, stolen, or damaged keys.
● Lost vehicle documents.
● Lost GPS devices or accessories.
● Vehicle recovery or towing from mud, sand, water, or inaccessible locations.
● Breakdown assistance caused by renter negligence.
● Administrative handling fees.
● Cleaning or smoking fees.
13. COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
CDW insurance is included in the rental price with a specific excess amount depending on vehicle category and driver age.
The excess amount serves as a security guarantee for possible damages.
The renter must return the vehicle in the same condition as received.
14. SUPER COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (SCDW)
SCDW reduces the renter’s financial responsibility for damages covered under the rental insurance policy.
Excluded damages listed in these Terms & Conditions remain excluded.
In every case of accident or damage, the renter must immediately notify Automax.
Failure to report damages immediately may invalidate insurance coverage.
15. FULL DAMAGE WAIVER (FDW / FULL INSURANCE)
FULL Insurance reduces the renter’s excess liability to zero for covered damages.
Damages specifically excluded under these Terms & Conditions remain excluded.
No deposit is required with FULL Insurance.
The renter must immediately notify Automax in case of accident or damage.
Failure to notify the company may result in loss of insurance protection.
16. CLEANING & SMOKING POLICY
Smoking, vaping, or transporting substances causing strong odors inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
Automax reserves the right to apply professional cleaning charges in cases of:
● Excessive dirt
● Mud or sand
● Saltwater residue
● Stains
● Pet hair
● Smoking residue or odor
● Biological waste or excessive interior contamination
17. PROHIBITED USE
The vehicle may NOT be used:
● For racing, drifting, competitions, or speed testing.
● For towing or pushing another vehicle or trailer.
● For driving instruction or driving lessons.
● For illegal activities.
● For transporting flammable, toxic, hazardous, or dangerous materials.
● Off-road or on unsuitable terrain.
● By any unauthorized driver.
18. RENTER OBLIGATIONS
The renter must:
● Lock the vehicle whenever unattended.
● Carry the rental agreement and driving license at all times while driving.
● Use the vehicle responsibly and according to Greek traffic law.
● Immediately notify Automax in case of accident, damage, malfunction, theft, or warning lights.
Unauthorized repairs or mechanical interventions are strictly prohibited without prior approval from Automax.
19. ACCIDENTS, DAMAGE & THEFT PROCEDURE
In case of accident, theft, fire, vandalism, or damage:
● The renter must immediately notify Automax.
● Police authorities must be informed when legally required.
● The renter must cooperate fully with insurance and legal procedures.
Failure to comply may invalidate all insurance coverage.
20. DELIVERY & COLLECTION
● Free delivery and collection within Corfu Airport, Corfu Port, and Corfu Town between 08:00 and 21:00.
● Deliveries/collections between 21:01 and 23:59 incur a €40 fee.
● Deliveries/collections between 00:01 and 07:59 incur a €50 fee.
● Other areas may incur additional delivery charges.
21. FUEL POLICY
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up.
If returned with less fuel:
● Fuel difference cost applies.
● Additional refueling service fee of €20 applies.
No refunds are provided for excess fuel.
22. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
24/7 roadside assistance is provided free of charge.
If the vehicle becomes immobilized outside the official road network or due to renter negligence, the renter is responsible for towing and recovery expenses.
23. VEHICLE REPLACEMENT
In case of breakdown or technical issue, the renter must contact Automax immediately.
Replacement vehicles are subject to availability.
If towing or immobilization occurs due to renter negligence or traffic law violations, all related transportation and recovery costs are borne by the renter.
24. CANCELLATION POLICY
● Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the rental start time are free of charge.
● Cancellations made within 48 hours are subject to a charge equal to the booking deposit.
● No refunds are provided for early returns or unused rental days after rental commencement.
25. CROSS BORDER & TERRITORIAL RESTRICTIONS
Cross-border rentals are strictly prohibited.
Vehicles may only be driven within Corfu Island unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Violation of territorial restrictions automatically voids all insurance coverage.
26. AVAILABILITY
Reservations are confirmed by vehicle category and not by specific model.
Automax reserves the right to provide an alternative vehicle of equal or higher category depending on availability.
27. AFTER-RENTAL CHARGES
Automax reserves the right to charge the renter after the rental period for:
● Traffic fines
● Administrative penalties
● Fuel differences
● Cleaning or smoking fees
● Missing accessories or documents
● Damages identified after inspection
● Towing or roadside assistance expenses
● Any contractual violation costs

29. JURISDICTION
Any dispute arising from this agreement falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Corfu, Greece.
By completing the booking process, signing the rental agreement, and collecting the vehicle, the renter confirms full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
Automax reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions without prior notice.

● Damages caused while transporting more passengers than legally permitted.
● Theft or loss of personal belongings.
● Damages occurring after failure to notify Automax immediately following an incident.
● Racing, dangerous driving, stunts, or irresponsible use of the scooter.
12. EXTRA CHARGES NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE
The renter may be charged additionally for:
● Wrong fuel usage.
● Lost, stolen, or damaged keys.
● Lost vehicle documents.
● Lost or damaged helmets.
● Lost or damaged top boxes or accessories.
● Vehicle recovery or towing from mud, sand, water, or inaccessible locations.
● Breakdown assistance caused by renter negligence.
● Administrative handling fees.
● Cleaning charges.
13. COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
CDW insurance is available with a specific excess amount depending on scooter category and driver age.
Alternatively, Automax may accept a cash deposit at the office.
The renter must return the scooter in the same condition as received.
14. SUPER COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (SCDW)
SCDW reduces the renter’s financial responsibility for damages covered under the rental insurance policy.
Excluded damages listed in these Terms & Conditions remain excluded.
In every case of accident or damage, the renter must immediately notify Automax.

16. HELMET & SAFETY OBLIGATIONS
The use of certified helmets by both rider and passenger is mandatory according to Greek traffic law.
Automax reserves the right to refuse or terminate the rental if the renter appears unable to safely operate the scooter due to:
● Intoxication
● Dangerous behavior
● Lack of experience
● Fatigue
● Unsafe conduct
Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication affecting driving ability is strictly prohibited.
17. CLEANING POLICY
The renter must return the scooter in reasonably clean condition.
Automax reserves the right to apply additional cleaning charges in cases of excessive dirt, mud, sand, seawater residue, stains, odors, or abnormal contamination.
18. PROHIBITED USE
The scooter may NOT be used:
● For racing, drifting, competitions, or speed testing.
● For illegal activities.
● Off-road or on unsuitable terrain.
● On beaches or flooded roads.
● For transporting flammable, toxic, hazardous, or dangerous materials.
● By any unauthorized driver.
● To transport more passengers than legally permitted.
19. FLAT TIRE & DAMAGE RESPONSIBILITY
In case of flat tire, the renter must immediately stop using the scooter and notify Automax.
Continuing to ride with a damaged or flat tire may cause additional damage to wheels, rims, suspension, or mechanical components, and all related repair costs will be fully charged to the renter.
20. RENTER OBLIGATIONS
The renter must:
